The Photographer
I am Clayton.
Wedding & lifestyle photographer based in the heart of East Tennessee, serving the Tri-Cities area and beyond.
What makes my approach different
Most people worry about two things when hiring a photographer: "I'm not photogenic" and "What if we spend all this money and hate how we look?"
I get it. I've heard it from almost every couple I've worked with. That's why I take time to get to know you before the camera ever comes out. We'll talk about what's important to you, the kind of images you're drawn to, and how you want your photos to feel. I use that insight to create an experience that's comfortable, natural, and fun — even for people who normally hate having their picture taken.
On your wedding day, I'm not the photographer barking orders or pulling you away from your guests for endless group shots. My goal is to blend in, observe, and capture moments as they unfold — the laughter, the tears, the quiet looks that often go unnoticed. You'll get photos that feel candid and real, not staged or over-edited.
A little about my background
Photography has been part of my life for decades. I started shooting in the late '90s, drawn to how a single image could freeze emotion in time. After several years away from it, I realized how much I missed the connection and storytelling that only photography can offer — so I came back to it with a renewed sense of purpose.
Now, I focus on helping people preserve the moments that matter most: weddings, engagements, family milestones, and even quiet everyday memories that deserve to be remembered.
What you can expect when working with me
From our first conversation to your final gallery, my goal is to make the process simple and enjoyable. You don't need to know anything about photography. That's my job. You just need to show up, be yourselves, and trust that I'll handle the rest.
We'll plan your shoot together, find the best light, choose meaningful locations, and create space for genuine emotion. I'll give direction when needed, but mostly I'll encourage you to forget about the camera and focus on each other. The result? Photos that reflect your real connection.
